Hello!
I'm Danielle Girsch, the sole instructor and owner of LIVEABILITY Yoga, Fitness, Wellness LLC. I am a 500 RYT, ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor, and a Certified Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher. I'm passionate about offering sustainable and functional classes to the community while fostering a space where all will feel welcome. I look forward to meeting you at the in-studio classes!
My Story
Yoga has been part of my life since I was a teenager. I found there was nothing more peaceful and grounding than the feeling of connecting to breath, movement, and quiet. Throughout the years, I became increasingly involved in high intensity fitness and power yoga classes to "challenge myself" and "get fit." I began to view yoga not as a time for connection to myself or a way of living, but as part of a rigorous workout routine. Fast forward years later and my body was riddled with repetitive stress injuries. I was experiencing so much pain and discomfort that the only physical activities I could engage in were walking, gentle yoga, restorative yoga, and yin yoga. I began to experience healing in body, mind, and soul that came from these slower, more meditative practices. I looked for ways to challenge myself physically that didn't involve ignoring my body's cues and signals. I began approaching fitness and asana ( the physical postures of yoga) from a place of mindfulness (that's actually what it's all about). I revamped my yoga and fitness routines, eliminating high impact activites and asanas that were constantly pushing the body beyond functional ranges of motion. I started practicing yoga from a place of inclusivity, longevity, and sustainability. This is the yoga I teach. You do not need to be flexible. You do not need trendy or expensive yoga clothes. You do not need to know yoga lingo or practice in a yoga studio. All are welcome! Come as you are.
